Science Friday in Second Life
Science Friday, NPR’s weekly two-hour science show, broadcasts live into Second Life (SL) every week. Check this out:
I really enjoy Science Friday in SL. There’s always a lively discussion going on in text chat during the show, and some of Ira’s questions even come from people in SL (“…and now we have a question from Kibbles MacFee in Second Life…”) It’s every Friday from 11am to 1pm Pacific Time at the sim named Science School.
Aside: I made the above video using screenshots that I sent to Flickr plus a neat new website / web service called Animoto. You just give Animoto the pictures (which it can pull from Flickr), pick some music, and it does all the magic to make a professional-looking video. (Kudos to Alan Levine - I found out about Animoto in a presentation he gave called “50 Web 2.0 Ways to Tell a Story”.)
Animoto now lets you download the video as a file playable with QuickTime (MP4 with H.264 compression). Here's a link to the MP4 file I made from the above video about Science Friday in Second Life. Feel free to right-click that link and save a local copy on your computer.

Hi Troy - great Animoto video, what a fun easy-to-use tool. I made a short video of Math in Second Life. I love it when Ira takes questions from SL.
