Changes
About a month ago, my NanoLands contract with NPL ended. I was offered some new contracts (by NPL and others), but I decided not to accept them. You see, over time I’ve accumulated a list of things I’d like to try, but until now I haven’t been in a position to do so.
One thing I wanted to do was set up in one of the mixed residential/ commercial communities of SL (of which there are many). So, about a week ago, I got a parcel in Caledon Moors, one of the Caledon sims (which are based on 19th-century Victorian England). That parcel is where I’m setting up my first place of business. I got AARISS to make the building (because the making of Victorian-style buildings is not my forte). They’re still working on it; it should be ready in a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, I’m working on the stuff that will go inside. More on that later…
I also got a new home in Alpine Meadow, the newest sim in the Confederation of Democratic Simulators (CDS). Until now, I’ve never really had a home (building) in SL. My “home” location was on an empty parcel in Aglia where I’d test scripts, rez objects and build things. The CDS interests me because it has a constitution and a full democratic system of governance, something that few other SL residential communities have. (Other communities tend to be governed by the landowner.)

Commuting from Alpine Meadow to Caledon Moors is rather tricky, but I manage.
