Music that Changed the World

I was browsing the CBC Radio website last week and came across a wonderful series called “Twenty Pieces of Music that Changed the World.” In each episode, CBC’s music guru Robert Harris explains (to Michael Enright) how a piece of music changed the world. Do you know why Elvis Presley’s “That’s All Right” is historically significant (besides being one of his first popular recordings)? Do you know which piece of music was the first to sell more than a million records (and no, it wasn’t Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas”)? Here’s a photographic hint:

You can find all episodes of the series on the CBC website.
